ACM’s analysis of the sustainability arrangements concerning the ‘Chicken of Tomorrow’

The arrangements concerning the ‘Chicken of Tomorrow’ constitute a restriction to competition. In 2014, the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) released a document about the Dutch Competition Act and sustainability. It explains how ACM assesses sustainability initiatives that may violate the Dutch Competition Act.

ACM has analyzed whether the arrangements concerning the ‘Chicken of Tomorrow’ qualify for the exception allowed under the Dutch Competition Act. ACM has come to the conclusion that the ‘Chicken of Tomorrow’ does not qualify for the exception. This analysis explains why not.
