Dutch postal company PostNL is allowed to raise stamp rate to 69 cents

The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) assesses whether any price changes in the stamp rates are statutorily allowed. More specifically, this concerns the rates for the universal postal service. In early-September, PostNL submitted a proposal to ACM. PostNL intended, among other things, to raise the stamp rate from 64 to 69 eurocents on January 1. ACM has concluded that such an increase is statutorily allowed.

A transitional regime is currently in effect until ACM has completed the assessment of the new cost allocation system. The assessment of the stamp rates is partly based on said cost allocation system. ACM hopes to complete the assessment in November, after which the transitional period expires, and ACM will then again determine what stamp rates are allowed for 2015.
