Our email policy

The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) will do everything it can so that everyone is able to reach us. If you send us an email, we aim to respond to it as soon as possible. Sometimes however, it may take slightly longer than usual for us to respond. We may not even have received your email.

Why do some emails not get through?

ACM applies the email security standards of the Dutch Central Government. We do so in order to protect your information as well as our information. If the system that you use for sending your emails does not meet these standards, your emails will not reach ACM. Furthermore, our spam filter may stop your emails.

How do you know if your email has reached us?

If your system does not meet the security standards of the Dutch Central Government, you will receive a so-called ‘non-delivery report.’ This is an email that states that your email has not reached ACM, and why not. If our spam filer has stopped your email, you will not receive such a report. However, your contact person can ask our help desk to find out whether or not our spam filter has stopped your email. So if you want to know for sure whether or not your email has reached us, please contact your contact person at ACM.

What can you do so that your information does get through?

You can send information to us in an easy and secure manner by using Cryptshare. With Cryptshare, your emails and/or documents will always reach us. Please do not forget to give your contact at ACM the password by calling them instead of sending the password by email.
