Letter about the maximum-tariff obligation
Judging from questions and indications that OPTA has received, telephone service providers may not always be aware of the maximum tariff that a number user charges for a specific information number. With this letter, OPTA wishes to inform number users and telephone service providers about the maximum-tariff obligation. Moreover, OPTA helps these parties meet this maximum-tariff obligation, thereby avoiding violations of this obligation. Number holders must know the number users, and are required to ensure that any numbers assigned to them are used in accordance with or pursuant to these rules. Consequently, if a number user fails to comply with the maximum-tariff obligation, OPTA may also take enforcement actions against the number holder in question. This letter has been sent to the companies listed in the appendix, and to all number holders.
