NMa 2007 Annual Report
In 2007 the NMa imposed a total of almost EUR 10 million in fines. In 2007 the NMa received 108 reports of mergers and acquisitions and investigated a large number of mergers in the healthcare sector. Among the most important results of the sector-specific regulation in 2007 was the NMa's first decision based on the new Dutch Aviation Act. The NMa determined that Schiphol should be charging airlines EUR 36.8 million less. In addition, the NMa was granted new powers. The NMa can now also fine individuals involved in cartels, and enter private homes. The leniency scheme has also been expanded.
