Dutch energy providers NieuweStroom and easyEnergy must send their energy bills on time

The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) has instructed Dutch energy suppliers NieuweStroom (Slim met Energie B.V.) and easyEnergy (e-Energy Europe B.V.) to send their consumer bills, annual and final bills, on time, and to get their administrative systems in order. In that context, ACM has added conditions to the supply licenses of these two providers, which supply electricity and natural gas. If these providers do not comply with these conditions, ACM may revoke their supply licenses.

Edwin van Houten, Director of ACM’s Consumer Department, explains: “Consumers are entitled to receive their energy bills on time. People want to know exactly what they have to pay or how much they get back, how much they save with their solar panels, and to what extent it is worthwhile to switch energy providers. If energy providers provide correct information, it will help towards the energy transition.”
