ACM’s new policy rule to create certainty about download speeds
The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) has drawn up a draft policy rule that stipulates what normal, minimum, and maximum download speeds are. Internet providers are to inform their customers correctly about the download speeds they offer. According to European rules on net neutrality, internet providers must be transparent about the conditions laid down in the contracts they conclude with their customers such as what maximum download speeds the providers are able to offer, and what speeds their customers can, normally speaking, expect. ACM will make sure that internet providers comply with these rules.
All interested parties are invited to share their opinions about this draft policy rule. They can do so through Friday, October 20, 2017.
