Cooperation protocol OPTA-NMa (June 2004)
Cooperation between OPTA and the NMa (the Dutch competition authority) can serve to strengthen the efficient and effective execution and application of the law. Moreover, OPTA and the NMa are obliged to develop operational procedures for handling affairs of mutual interest. In 1999 (amended 2000) the two organisations developed a cooperation protocol, thereby giving form to the envisaged cooperation.
After the amended Telecommunications Act was effectuated on the 19th may 2004 the protocol was subjected to internal evaluation. The new protocol includes agreements that stem directly from the new European regulatory package for electronic communications markets and the amendments in the Telecommunications Act.
