NMa publishes auction rules BritNed

On June 27, 2007, the Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs granted an exemption for the BritNed interconnector. According to the requirements of the exemption BritNed must have the approval of the Netherlands Competition Authority (hereinafter: NMa) for, in short the access rules and the provision of information before the interconnector comes into operation. On February 12, 2010, BritNed filed an application for approval with the NMa. The NMa has requested BritNed to submit an additional document for formal persusal, but now publishes the Draft Access Rules and an accompanying letter of BritNed. The NMa coordinates the process of approval with the British Office of the Gas and Electricity Markets Ofgem. For further information, see the translation of the letter NMa sent to all organisations representing parties on the electricity market.
