NMa: TenneT’s 2012 transmission and system services tariffs remain stable
The tariffs for transmission services of Dutch transmission system operator TenneT continue to be stable in 2012, according to the tariff decisions the Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa) published today. The revenue effects resulting from many other decisions are reflected in these tariff decisions. These decisions also set the 2012 standard volumes.
TenneT’s revenues will increase by approximately 8 per cent, mostly as a result of the previously issued method decision for the fifth regulatory period and the revised method decision for the fourth regulatory period. The effects of the revised method decision for the fourth regulatory period on TenneT have been included for a third in the 2012 tariffs. In addition, the transmission tariffs include a surcharge for three large-scale investments. They also include an inflation adjustment of 2.6 per cent.
However, the revenue increase is accompanied by an expected volume increase. Since TenneT’s regulation is turnover-based, the extra revenues are distributed over larger volumes. Transmission tariffs for the ultra high voltage grids increase by 3.8 per cent. The tariffs for the (normal) grids increase by 0.6 per cent, because of a projected volume increase of 6.6 per cent.
Next to the transmission services tariffs, the NMa today also realesed the system services tariff. TenneT’s revenues for system services incease by 2.1 per cent. The system services tariff increases by 3.7 per cent. Meanwhile, the system services volumes decrease by 1.6 per cent.
