DTe Informs Public of Freedom to Choose Energy Supplier through Website

From 1 July 2004, you are free to switch energy suppliers. How should you go about switching suppliers and how will this affect your energy bill? The Office for Energy Regulation (DTe) provides answers to these and other relevant questions through the dossier "Free Choice of Energy' [Vrije Energiekeuze], which will be published today on DTe's website (www.acm.nl).

Through the dossier, DTe provides more detailed information on the liberalisation of the electricity and gas markets. DTe indicates what opportunities the liberalised market holds for small consumers who are free to choose their own energy supplier as of 1 July 2004. In addition, the protection of small consumers and the tasks and powers which DTe has in this area are also discussed. You can call NMa/DTe's Information Line at 0800-0231885 (free from within the Netherlands) with any questions or comments you may have regarding the dossier. You can also respond by sending an e-mail to info [at] acm [punt] nl (info[at]acm[dot]nl).
