DTe Analyses Consequences of Decentralised Electricity Generation

The Office for Energy Regulation (DTe) will today publish an information and consultation document on decentralised energy generation.

Electricity which is generated in a decentralised manner is supplied directly to the regional electricity grids by the producers. The research focuses on the effects of an increase in decentralised generation on the structure of the electricity grid. DTe has taken up the issue of whether present regulations should be amended so that the costs and savings resulting from decentralised generation can be allocated (differently) to decentralised energy producers and grid managers.

The parties are invited to respond to the information and consultation document "Decentralised Generation". Responses can be submitted until 19 March 2004. This document is available as of today on DTe's website under the heading "Publications".
