NMa: Annual Report on Developments in the Energy Market

The Office of Energy Regulation (DTe) of NMa, will provide the Minister of Economic Affairs with an annual report on the level of competition on the Dutch electricity market. This is a task which arises from the new Electricity Act which came into force on 1 July 2004. DTe's first report, with its market monitor, was presented today to the Minister of Economic Affairs.

In order to analyse developments on the liberalised electricity market in the Netherlands, DTe will actively monitor and analyze this market. In addition, on the basis of results obtained from the market monitor, DTe will advise the Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa) of its own accord and on request.
