NMa fines Rendant Parknet Beheer for violating Dutch Gas Act
Dutch energy supplier Rendant Parknet Beheer is fined €15,000 by the Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa).
Rendant Parknet Beheer owns a gas transmission grid beneath Businessparc Nieuwland in the Dutch city of Alblasserdam, but has not appointed an operator to this grid. Furthermore, up until the investigation had actually started, Rendant failed to apply for an exemption from the Dutch Gas Act for it to operate the grid by itself. Under the Gas Act, Rendant is legally obliged to either appoint an operator, guaranteeing that the grid is operated in accordance with the Gas Act, or to apply for an exemption from the obligation to appoint an operator.
