NMa fixes gas and electricity transport tariffs for 2007
The Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa) has determined maximum tariffs for gas and electricity transport. As from 1 February 2007, (regional) network operators may maximally charge end-users for gas and electricity transport according to these tariffs.
On average tariffs employed by regional network operators for electricity transport increase by 2.1 per cent in 2007 as compared to 2006. Gas transport tariffs, as charged by regional network operators, show an average decline of 0.2 per cent. In combination, tariffs for 2007 will increase by 1.4 per cent as compared to 2006. This exactly equals the rate of inflation that network operators may statutorily apply to tariffs.
Tariffs are based on tariff proposals submitted to the Office of Energy Regulation (DTe), which operates as part of the NMa and monitors energy markets. It is mandatory for (regional) network operators to annually submit tariff proposals before 1 October.
