Transmission of natural gas becomes easier in Europe
New European rules will make transmission of natural gas in Europe easier. They will contribute to the realization of an affordable and secure supply of energy.
Calculations of tariffs in Europe will more and more converge
The new rules will determine how the tariffs for the transmission of natural gas in Europe are to be calculated. Because of this, these calculations will more and more converge in Europe, and, moreover, will become more transparent. Traders and buyers of natural gas will thus know better in advance what tariffs they will have to deal with. This will make European transmission of natural gas easier for them, thereby increasing the security of the supply of natural gas.
ACM will consult market participants
The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) is responsible for the implementation of the rules, which have been established by the European Commission. ACM will consult all parties involved, both in the Netherlands and in neighboring countries. The rules will be fully implemented in late-2018.
