Chris Fonteijn named International Competition Network vice-chairman

Chris Fonteijn, Chairman of the Board of the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM), has been appointed vice-chairman of the International Competition Network (ICN). Together with chairman Andreas Mundt and co-vice-chairman Alejandra Palacios Prieto, Mr. Fonteijn will direct ICN, which aims to promote a more efficient enforcement of competition rules for consumers and businesses. Within ICN, Mr. Fonteijn will specifically focus on communication and cooperation with ICN members and stakeholders.

ICN was founded in 2001 by 14 competition authorities, and has since evolved into an influential organization within the arena of international competition law. Its informal network is currently 130 competition authorities strong. ICN focuses on practical issues regarding competition law and competition policy.
