ACM conference Impact Assessment 2016: presentation Thorun
The Netherlands Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM) organised a conference on “Impact Assessment of Interventions of Competition and Consumer Authorities”, to pay tribute to the ten-year anniversary of the ACM’s (former NMa’s) Chief Economist Office. The conference took place in Amsterdam on November 16, 2016.
This document is the presentation of Christian Thorun (ConPolicy) from the session “Consumer Protection”. Markets are not always working in the best interest of consumers. Consumer policy can help to lower the detriment incurred by consumers. Christian Thorun discusses several definitions and indicators of consumer detriment and presents some best practices from different European countries.
The discussion of this presentation is from Kati Cseres (ACLE).
