NMa clears merger between housing corporations Ymere and Woonmaatschappij

The Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa) has approved the merger between the housing corporations Ymere and Woonmaatschappij. The competition agency has established after investigation that the merger does not substantially impede competition in the Dutch market or part thereof.

The merging parties provide social housing services in Amsterdam and surrounding area. Furthermore, the parties concerned are active in the market for project development. The merging parties have a joint market share of less than 25 per cent in the abovementioned markets. In this area various competitors are active, which discipline the new combination.
