Organization of the telecom market in the Caribbean Netherlands
On 23 April 2025, the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) published its study report ‘Organization of the telecom market in the Caribbean Netherlands’. On behalf of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs (EZ), ACM carried out a study into possible initiatives within and possible additions to the current telecom policy framework in the Caribbean Netherlands, and it also explored possible market organization models for the Caribbean Netherlands. All policy proposals are aimed at creating a telecom market that delivers choice and ultimately better value for money in telecom services in the Caribbean Netherlands.
What does the study report cover?
Within the scope of the market organization, ACM examined various proposals and market organization models. For each policy option, ACM looked into the feasibility thereof, considering having regard to the scale, market structure, and existing legislation and regulations.
