With new names and logos, RENDO Beheer and Rendo Duurzaam set themselves apart from the DSO

On October 1, 2017, RENDO Beheer and RENDO Duurzaam changed their names to ENAVI and N-TRA, respectively. With these new names, these commercial businesses are able to set themselves apart from distribution system operator (DSO) RENDO Netwerken, with which they are affiliated. With these moves, RENDO fulfills its commitments to the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM). Similarly, DSOs Coteq Netbeheer and Enduris also adjusted their names and logos after an intervention by ACM.

Consumers will have clarity from now on

The commercial businesses that are affiliated with RENDO Netwerken will no longer be able to benefit improperly from the brand recognition of the DSO. It will now be clear to buyers with whom they are dealing: the DSO that performs statutory tasks such as the transmission of electricity and natural gas, or a commercial company that performs related activities. Previously, this had been insufficiently clear.

Henk Don, Member of the Board of ACM, explains: “Competitors are thus no longer at a disadvantage. And consumers and businesses will see that they have options.”
