Cateautje Hijmans van den Bergh reappointed as Member of the Board of ACM

The Dutch Council of Ministers has approved the reappointment of Cateautje Hijmans van den Bergh as Member of the Board of the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM). Ms. Hijmans van den Bergh’s new term will start on January 1, 2022. She has been reappointed for five more years.

Ms. Hijmans van den Bergh’s portfolio consists of consumer protection, legal affairs, and corporate services. Next to Ms. Hijmans van den Bergh, the Board of ACM consists of Manon Leijten and Martijn Snoep (Chairman). They are delighted that Ms. Hijmans van den Bergh will continue in her role as Member of the Board of ACM, bringing in her vast knowledge and extensive experience.

Background

Cateautje Hijmans van den Bergh has been a Member of the Board of ACM since January 1, 2017. Ms. Hijmans van den Bergh has a master’s degree in classical languages and archaeology from Leiden University, and she obtained a Master of Business Administration from the University of Rochester and Erasmus University Rotterdam. Ms. Hijmans van den Bergh worked in the financial sector and in strategic consulting for many years. Until December 31, 2016, she was the acting director of Dutch pension provider APG. From 1997 until 2014, Ms. Hijmans van den Bergh worked for consultancy firm Boer&Croon, where she was Chair of the Board during her last three years.
