Cateautje Hijmans van den Bergh, Member of the Board, announces decision to leave ACM

Today, Cateautje Hijmans van den Bergh, Member of the Board of the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM), has announced she has decided to leave ACM. Ms. Hijmans van den Bergh will leave office on September 1, 2024.

Ms. Hijmans van den Bergh has been a Member of Board of ACM since January 1, 2017, and her portfolio has included the Consumer Department, Legal Department, and Corporate Services Department. On her decision, she comments: “With great enthusiasm, I have closely worked together with passionate professionals for over seven years. Together, we have been able to expand ACM’s data-driven oversight, embed behavioral insights in that data-driven oversight, and revamp consumer law. To me, this feels like a logical and appropriate time to step away.”

Martijn Snoep, Chairman of the Board of ACM, comments: “ACM is deeply indebted to Cateautje for all of her work. She has played a crucial role in the further development of behavioral research and of our data-driven oversight, particularly with regard to consumer protection. In addition, we will also miss her perspectives on organizational and employee development. Diversity and inclusion have become a cornerstone of our organizational strategy in part because of her efforts.”
