ACM supports European Commission’s decision on acquisition of Tele2 NL by T-Mobile NL
The European Commission has cleared the acquisition of Dutch telecom operator Tele2 NL by its rival T-Mobile NL. The Commission announced its decision earlier today. The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) supports the Commission’s decision.
One of the Commission’s conclusions is that the acquisition will not lead to any anticompetitive concerns in the Netherlands. It has come to this conclusion following an extensive investigation, which revealed that the acquisition is unlikely to have a significant effect on prices or the service level for Dutch consumers. ACM shares the European Commission’s conclusions.
Over the past few months, ACM worked closely together with the European Commission. Both regulators shared a lot of knowledge and experience of the Dutch telecom market.
