The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) will definitively revoke the supply licenses of bankrupt Dutch energy company FENOR Energie per 31 December 2021. The receiver of FENOR Energie informed ACM that energy supplier Budget Energie has taken over all of FENOR Energie’s customers (consumers and small business customers) as of 30 December 2021. All customers will continue to receive energy, and will automatically be informed by Budget Energie.
On 17 December, 2021, ACM already announced it would revoke FENOR Energie’s licenses, because the company had run into financial problems as a result of the high energy prices.
All of FENOR Energie’s customers (approximately 36,000 consumers and small business customers) will thus get new energy contracts from Budget Energie, and will be able to choose whether or not to stay with Budget Energie or to switch suppliers anyway (after a notice period of no more than 30 days).
