ACM appoints Annemarie Sipkes as Director of Telecommunications, Transport and Postal Services Department

The Board of the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Annemarie Sipkes as Director of the Telecommunications, Transport and Postal Services Department. Henk Don, Member of the Board of ACM, comments: “Annemarie Sipkes is an energetic director with considerable experience in politics and public administration, and with an affinity for regulation. I’m very much looking forward to her joining ACM’s team.”

Ms. Sipkes will succeed Johan Ketelaar as the Director of ACM’s Telecommunications, Transport and Postal Services Department. Ms. Sipkes is currently the Director of Knowledge and Strategy at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW). She will start her new position on April 16.

Since 2012, Ms. Sipkes has been the Director of Knowledge and Strategy, as well as the CIO and a Member of the Executive Committee, at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. From 2003 until 2012, she worked at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (SZW), first as a senior policy advisor, and subsequently as Head of Financial-Economic Affairs. Prior to that, she worked at the Dutch central bank (DNB) and accountancy firm KPMG. Ms. Sipkes obtained degrees in Economics and in Arts and Sciences from Maastricht University.

ACM’s Telecommunications, Transport and Postal Services Department (TVP) is responsible for sector-specific regulation in several markets such as those for public transport, aviation, postal services, and telecommunications. Approximately 80 employees work in the ACM’s Telecommunications, Transport and Postal Services Department.
