New Leniency Officer with NMa
As of 1 September 2006, due to the departure of Mrs Madeleine McLaggan-van Roon, the post of Leniency Officer with the Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa) will temporarily be occupied by Mr Pablo Amador Sanchez. McLaggan-van Roon has been appointed a commissioner at the Dutch Data Protection Authority [College Bescherming Persoonsgegevens/ CBP] from 1 September 2006. She was the Deputy Director of the Antitrust Department of the NMa.
The Leniency Officer is authorised to enter into commitments on the basis of the NMa's leniency programme. By applying for leniency, companies may acquire fine immunity or fine reduction, if they inform the NMa of cartels in which they are or have been active. It is conditional that companies submit an individual application to the Leniency Office and pass on valuable information. In order to facilitate this, the NMa has published Leniency Guidelines. The Leniency Office of the NMa may be contacted on +31 (0)70 330 1710 (telephone), +31 (0)70 1700 (fax) or by email: clementie [at] acm [punt] nl (clementie[at]acm[dot]nl).
