Schedule of the 2024 ACM Data Act Cloud Conference
On November 12, 2024, the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) organizes the 2024 Data Act Cloud Conference. Speakers will include the European Commission (DG CNECT), the Dutch Cloud Community, and Dutch research firm TNO. Companies that are active in the cloud sector can now register for the conference.
What opportunities does the Data Act create?
The Data Act (DA) is a European regulation, which promotes access to and the use of data, with the aim of creating a fair data market. In addition, the DA will make it easier to switch cloud providers, thereby boosting competition. This will lead to growth of the data economy as well as to new opportunities for both small and large businesses. The Cloud Conference will cover the latter.
Schedule of the 2024 Data Act Cloud Conference
ACM wishes to engage with businesses that are active in the cloud sector. The DA offers many opportunities, yet implementation thereof may also present challenges. During the conference, these businesses can ask questions, share experiences, and engage with ACM.
After the welcome speech of Martijn Snoep, Chairman of the Board of ACM, DG CNCT will give a keynote speech about the implementation of the Data Act and about what the European Commission has done thus far and what it will do with regard to cloud computing. The conference will also feature panel discussions about the opportunities and developments in multi-cloud usage as well as about recent developments in portability and switching between cloud services.
Registration
The conference will be held on 12 November at 1 pm at the offices of ACM in The Hague (address: Muzenstraat 41). The conference’s official language is English. Businesses that are active in the cloud sector can register for the conference here. Registration is open until November 7.
