ACM appoints five ICN Non-Governmental Advisors

To improve international cooperation with regard to competition, consumer protection and sector-specific regulation, ACM has appointed five Non-Governmental Advisors (NGAs). The NGAs are experts who come from academia, the legal world and the corporate sector, and have been selected through an open-application procedure based on their expertise in competition, consumer protection and/or sector-specific regulation. Paul de Bijl (Radicand Economics, Lexonomics, WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management), Annetje Ottow (Utrecht University, CMA), Kati Cseres (University of Amsterdam), Jolling de Pree (De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek) and Weijer VerLoren van Themaat (Houthoff Buruma) will provide ACM with advice in the next three years.

Role in international network

NGAs play an important role within the International Competition Network (ICN). ICN is a global network of competition authorities, which collectively deal with practical enforcement and competition issues. NGAs contribute to ICN products by identifying themes, developing new products or commenting on existing products. In addition, NGAs contribute to the public debate regarding competition at ICN conferences and workshops.
