Board of ACM
The Board of ACM has the final say over all decisions issued by ACM. The Ministry of Economic Affairs (EZ) appoints the Members of the Board of ACM. The Members of the Board are independent in their decision-making, and each Member has their own portfolio.

Martijn Snoep
Since September 1, 2018, Martijn Snoep has been the Chairman of the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM). Mr. Snoep obtained his law degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam. Until his appointment at ACM, he worked as a competition lawyer for 28 years. Working in Amsterdam and Brussels, Mr. Snoep gave advice to businesses about the application of competition law in the Netherlands and abroad.

Manon Leijten
Manon Leijten has been a Member of the Board of ACM since March 2, 2020. Ms. Leijten earned her master’s degree in business economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam. Prior to her appointment as Member of the Board of ACM, she was the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Finance for six and a half years. From 2011 to 2013, she was Director-General of the Senior Civil Service (ABD), which falls under the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK). Before that, between 2008 and 2011, she was Director of the Internal Budget Directorate at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (SZW).

Martijn Ridderbos
Martijn Ridderbos has been a Member of the Board of ACM since January 1, 2025. Mr. Ridderbos earned his master’s degree in business economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam, and holds an executive master’s degree in Finance and Control from VU University Amsterdam. Prior to his appointment as Member of the Board of ACM, he was vice-chairman of the Executive Board of Leiden University for eight years. Before that, he was Group Director of Finances at the Dutch Public Prosecution Service (OM) and Director of its Service Center. From 2011 to 2017, he was a Professor in Public Management at Utrecht University. Earlier in his career, he worked for Ernst & Young and Cap Gemini.
