Reporting spam to ACM
Sending spam is prohibited in the Netherlands
Have you received spam? And has it caused you inconvenience? On this website, you can find information about filing a complaint about spam with the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM).
What does ACM do with my complaint?
ACM enforces compliance with the spam prohibition, and protects consumers against unfair commercial practices, for example by dealing with senders of spam messages that contain misleading or false advertising. What ACM will do, depends on the seriousness of the complaints as well as on the number of those complaints. ACM cannot handle each individual complaint. And, so as not to interfere with any of its investigations, ACM does not comment on possible or ongoing investigations.
We ask you to enter your personal details in the form. Your information helps us carry out our regulatory and enforcement duties. In most cases, further investigation is needed in order to determine whether a company complies with the rules. We may contact you and ask you whether you have any additional information. Would you like to know more about what we do with your personal details? Please read ACM’s privacy statement.
Spam sent from abroad (outside the Netherlands)
Have you received spam from outside the Netherlands? If so, ACM is unable to deal with the sender. However, we can refer your case to the relevant authority in the sender’s country.
