ACM: Health insurers are allowed to give health care providers financial support collectively during Coronavirus crisis
Health insurers can make collective arrangements to support health care providers during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. These arrangements concern continuity contributions and advances on payments to health care providers that are not directly involved in helping Coronavirus patients.
Many forms of collaborations are allowed. However, collaborations can also go too far. That is why ACM has provided more clarity in its ‘Policy Rule on the Right Care in the Right Place’.
ACM Policy Rule on arrangements as part of the movement called ‘The right care in the right place’ (JZOJP)
In this policy rule, ACM explains that it will not impose any fines if collaborations as part of the initiative called ‘the Right Care in the Right Place’ (in Dutch: De Juiste Zorg op de Juiste Plek) meet five criteria.
ACM has cleared the acquisition of health care provider Trimenzo by rival provider Sensire. Both organizations provide health care services such as district nursing and nursing home care. With this acquisition, Sensire is able to continue Trimenzo’s health care services.
