Laurens Jörg (1975) is an accomplished lawyer. He and his family have lived on Bonaire since late-2015. Together with fellow ACM co-worker Marga Buys, Laurens will work on the enforcement of the specific law that applies to the Caribbean Netherlands concerning the supply of electricity and drinking water.
To Laurens, cooperation is the key in his new position: “Working together with the people of Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba will offer plenty of opportunities to get to know each other better, and to help each other reach their goals. Each of these three islands are obviously completely different from the other two. That is why we wish to be in close contact with everyone: individuals and businesses. That is the only way we will be able to get a clear picture of the local situation, which, in turn, allows us to do our job well. That is a daunting challenge, one that truly inspires me.”
Laurens has worked at ACM since 2009, and has held several positions. Prior to ACM, he worked at a specialized administrative-law tribunal for over eight years, and he was associated with Utrecht University.
